Lorin PARYS
CEO Belgian Pro League
Lorin Parys is Chief Executive Officer of the Belgian Pro League, where he leads the organisation representing and organising professional football in Belgium since 2022. A former lawyer with international experience, he began his career at Latham & Watkins in New York before moving into senior executive roles and public office. This blend of legal training, political practice and football management underpins his expertise in football governance at both national and European level.
Before joining the Pro League, Lorin Parys served as Chief Operating Officer of Club Brugge, gaining first‑hand experience of the operational, financial and sporting realities of a leading club. He later became a prominent figure in Flemish politics, serving as vice‑president of N‑VA and member of the Flemish Parliament, where he built deep knowledge of regulatory processes, stakeholder management and public policy. Upon his appointment as CEO, he resigned all political mandates to focus fully on professional football, signalling a long‑term commitment to the sector.
Under his leadership, the Belgian Pro League has positioned itself as an innovative “smart exporter” league, leveraging data, youth development and financial discipline to remain competitive in a changing European landscape. Lorin Parys has overseen reforms such as a new youth licensing system and the Pro League Performance Hub, initiatives that align sporting, economic and regulatory incentives. His election to the Board of Directors of European Leagues and his role within the World Leagues Forum further embed him in the core decision‑making arenas where the future of European club competitions, revenue distribution and regulatory frameworks are shaped.
Operating in these bodies gives Lorin Parys a privileged vantage point on forthcoming political, economic and legal developments in European football, from UEFA competition reforms and calendar design to solidarity mechanisms and financial regulations. Coupled with his background in law and politics, this enables him not only to anticipate the most likely shifts in the European football ecosystem, but also to translate them into concrete strategic choices.
