Bernd REICHART
Bernd Reichart is a prominent business executive known for his leadership in the European sports and media industries. He currently serves as CEO of A22 Sports Management, the company driving the proposed European Super League football competition. Bernd Reichart’s academic background includes studies in sports science and English at the University of Konstanz, the University of Salamanca, and the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where he also played NCAA Division I football.
Reichart began his career in sports marketing with UFA Sports in Hamburg, later opening a Madrid branch for Sportfive as Marketing Manager. He transitioned to media, joining Antena 3 (now Atresmedia) in Spain, where he rose to Managing Director, overseeing five free-to-air TV channels. In 2013, Reichart returned to Germany, taking on leadership roles at RTL Deutschland, including Managing Director of VOX and later CEO of RTL Germany. He also joined the Group Management Committee at Bertelsmann, a major international media and services conglomerate.
In October 2022, Reichart became CEO of A22 Sports Management, where he has been the public face of the Super League project, advocating for a new, merit-based European football competition and challenging UEFA’s monopoly. Multilingual and internationally experienced, Bernd Reichart is recognized for his expertise in media management, sports business, and stakeholder engagement across Europe.
